MED-UV HANDPIECE VARIANTS

Two different applicator variants are available to perfectly adapt MED-UV® to your treatment preferences. The classic UVB EPL® 308 nm with excimer technology and the LED based and lean UVB EPL® lite 308 nm.

UVB EPL® 308 nm

Powerful 308 nm UVB excimer device for frequent treatments. With a power density of up to 100 mW/cm² average treatment times are twice as fast as with comparable systems.

UVB EPL® LITE 308 nm

Lean 308 nm LED device ideal for pinpoint treatment of smaller lesions. The long-lasting light source is a reliable choice for occasional treatments.

VITILIGO & PSORIASIS

MED-UV covers a wide range of dermatological indications such as psoriasis and vitiligo. In addition, the MED-UV is also suitable for the treatment of aesthetic indications such as striae.

VITILIGO

Vitiligo is a non-contagious skin disease based on a pigmentary disorder. Characteristic of the disease are white skin patches either on the whole body or limited to the face, hands and feet. In Europe, about 7.5 million people suffer from vitiligo. Vitiligo is a chronic disease that progresses if left untreated. The typical treatment time for a vitiligo lesion with MED-UV EPL® 308 nm is:

PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is one of the most widespread autoimmune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The disease is hereditary and usually runs chronically or in recurrent phases. Treatment of the inflammatory foci with UVB light can lead to a normalization of the formation rate of skin cells and thus to an improvement of the psoriatic plaques. The typical treatment time for a psoriasis lesion with MED-UV EPL® 308 nm is:

Technology

EPL® EXCIMER PULSED LIGHT

For powerful and targeted UVB treatments, German Medical Engineering has developed the Excimer Pulsed Light (EPL®) technology. As in excimer lasers, monochromatic light of wavelength 308 nm is used. This wavelength lies within the UV-B area and thus represents the sweetspot of the UV spectrum for safe and effective treatment at the same time.

MONOCHROMATIC

MED-UV uses the same emission spectrum as excimer lasers: monochromatic UVB light of wavelength 308 nm. This is considered the most effective and safest for the treatment of psoriasis and vitiligo. Many clinical studies prove that excimer systems deliver exactly the results you expect from excimer lasers, at a fraction of the cost.

CRYSTAL CLEAR VISIBILITY FOR
PRECISE APPLICATION

The transparent fused silica rods of the adapter precisely deliver the light of wavelength 308 nm to the respective lesion. This keeps the treatment area perfectly visible at all times without reducing the light intensity. Different lengths and diameters of the glass rods allow adjustment to any treatment situation. The adapter is easily attached to the applicator by means of a snap-on system.
